National, 18-30 year olds

Biden 60%
Trump 27%

63% of respondents said they will "definitely" be voting in November's election. At the same time four years ago, slightly less than half (47%) of young Americans polled said they would definitely vote.

https://www.npr.org/2020/09/21/914989655/poll-most-young-americans-prefer-biden-but-trump-backers-are-more-enthusiastic

Clinton only won 18-29 year olds by 19% in 2016.

No surprise. Though I never would have thought it would be the tide pod generation saving our democracy. That's a significant increase in voters.

If this turns out to be accurate, polls are gonna be really off.

Meaning it helps Biden?

I think Biden may overperform his polling number if this is true but I dont want to jinx. the amount enthusiasm among 18 to 29 years olds in this poll is equivalent to 2008

Yeah, this seems right (if not underestimating support for Biden). Biden is going to nearly double HRC's margin among these voters; Trump's responses to COVID and the BLM protests are going to be big factors in the swing.

Trump really has done a number on his party's future. Demographic time bomb.

And the SCOTUS effect?

I think the TikTok almost being banned by Trump helped give Biden more younger voters.

This thread is a good example in how ignorant Atlas is with young people & what drives them politically.

This, TikTok being the issue that drives Under 30 voters over the edge (As opposed to literally anything else Trump's done until last month) & the hilarious paranoia around Kanye West overwhelmingly winning the Under 30 vote

Might help too if young people think about the fact that will affect them for probably the rest of their lives.

Anyway, Biden doing 14 points better than Hillary AND way more young people saying they will vote are both very, very good things.

well Kanye west resonates more with  older millenial/ gen x , not zoomers. I havent thought of Kanye since 2015 or so

That's great that you know.

I'll always remember the weekend-long paranoia here after Kanye "announced" that he was gonna crush it among Zoomers/Millennials & young Black voters.

That's when I know I couldn't take this forums "analysis" of young voters seriously. Doubly funnier when you realize a significant chunk of active posters are in their 20s
