This is just so god damned reprehensible to me. Even if you subscribe to the idea that Trump is allowed to fill the seat, how could anyone defend this lol. There's not even a nominee and they're already giving their blanket approval to it

This would be the shortest confirmation ever and I'm wondering if there will even be hearings. It sounds like the intention is just to skip right to a vote.

The advantage of their shamelessness is that we don't have to feel guilty of just treating them all as spineless bootlickers for a would be dictator.

(It would be utterly hilarious, in a dark comedy sort of way, if now that he's gotten them all to commit Donald goes with a completely off-the-wall pick like Ivanka, Judge Pirro or some random Mar-a-Lago patron with a law degree.)

This is the same guy who swore there would be a bipartisan acquittal of Trump, what, a few hours before all Democrats + 1 Republican actually voted to convict?

Democrats need to no-show & thus deprive the committee of a quorum when it's time for the hearings. It won't kill the nomination, but a 2-day delay is better than nothing at this point.

Agreed.  The Republicans love to play dirty tricks.  Time to match them at their own game.

Watch Trump nominate someone with no judicial experience.

He would deserve it more than anybody. Even more than Collins or McSally. But I have little faith in South Carolina voters, to be completely honest.
