I still support the conversion of them to the true faith of Jesus Christ in emergent Christianity but I'll take this until then!

Amy Coney Barrett et al are only a part of what is the world's largest Christian denomination.  Basically, most Catholics (like myself) are diverse and are not single issue voters.

The difference between white and Hispanic Catholics compared to 2016 is huge! Per Pew Research center https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/11/09/how-the-faithful-voted-a-preliminary-2016-analysis/  Trump won white Catholics  in 2016 by 23%. Now he is leading among them by just 5%. Clinton won Hispanic Catholics by 41%. Now Biden is leading among them by only 32%.

BTW, White Catholics are very important for the Electoral College. Just look at the map. They are a large chunk of the electorate it WI, MN, PA, NH and two competitive districts in ME and NE.

Biden will win Catholics by about 2-5% in the end.

Part of why I think Louisiana will be closer than people are anticipating. Catholics were a big part of JBE’s coalition.

This is perhaps the best news for Biden supporters, why?

This is where you get most of your swing voters. Why?

Well growing up Catholic I can tell you that the church teaches to be pro-life and being pro-social justice at the same time. So people who are raised in an environment like that can often see two sides and may easily cross party lines since the US Major parties are often either one of the other (Democrats being pro-social justice and Republicans being pro-life).

Also no US President since Kennedy (the first Catholic President) has ever won the White House without winning the Catholic voters.

It may sound interesting that Biden a Catholic himself is polling well with Catholics compared to John Kerry in 2004 who is a Catholic. I wonder why?

Lots of Catholics are liberal on immigration and Trump locking out children in cages certainly didn't help him with them.

Kerry ran a weak campaign and never really had a compelling message.

If this poll is accurate, Trump is DOA.

Kerry's more of a cafeteria Catholic, I would say Biden is a more genuine Catholic, also Bush is more a religious man than Trump so that's why

Stop.

You know, most of your little monomania is like scream core, that stupid Pokemon go Style game, nothing about dude Fest, foot fetishes, and trying to avoid traveling to any location that voting for Trump normally just Emmitt eye rolls from the rest of us.

however, your comments about Catholicism are invariably those of a narrow-minded bigot.

People say similar things about Mormons and conservative evangelicals (and I agree with them for the record) here and don't get called out.

Also there's the obvious fact that...I'm voting for Biden.

Trump leads white Catholics by 5. This would be the best Dem showing since 2008.

Ughhh, those sub-group-poll threads popping up like mushrooms are highly annoying.

Gay men, Catholics, State House-Districts out of Michigan, 18-30 year olds ...

There should be 1 single thread where all these polls are posted.

This board is only for:

A) National polls
B) State polls
C) Congressional district polls

That's strange.
I always thought Maryland was heavy white-Catholic (somewhere I remember reading this).

Maryland was originally settled as a haven for Catholics in the early colonial time by Lord George Calvert (Lord Baltimore) who himself was a Catholic, it was named after Henrietta Maria who was the Royal Consort of the UK at the time, she was married to Charles I iirc.

EDIT: I just checked American Pageant (15th ED) and according to a table on page 81 the estimated religious census in 1775 would account for 25,000 Catholics which is roughly 1% of the colonial population of 2.493 million.

I don't understand your objection. This board is called "2020 U.S. Presidential General Election Polls."

Every poll you mentioned describes how different demographic and geographic groups are polling for the 2020 U.S. Presidential General Election.

It's completely on-topic.

Truly surprised to see Nebraska so high.
