FF. While I didn't agree with all of Ginsburg's opinions, I found her to be an intelligent, serious, and substantive Justice who overcame numerous obstacles in her personal life-not least her constant health struggles-who had a genuine interest in the law, and who sought to advance this country's democratic principles. She garnered great respect from her colleagues on the Court, and from within the judiciary, and her friendship with her ideological opposite, Justice Scalia, is of particular note. Her demise at this juncture is very unfortunate, and will now open us up to a monumental partisan battle that will have negative implications for the Court she long served on.

Massive, massive FF. She overcame a lot of obstacles in her life and fought for the right causes. She will truly go down as one of the finest jurists that ever served on the court benches. Her legacy will endure through the generations. Rest in power, RBG!

The only thing I fault her is not retiring in 2013/14.

Big time FF at least as much for her work as a crusading second-wave feminist lawyer in the 60s and 70s as for her forty years on the federal bench. It's such a shame that so many people's opinions of her, especially but not only among her ideological foes, are almost solely determined by her importance to the Roe forever war.

She should've retired earlier. She was banking on Hillary picking her replacement, instead Trump will get a free SCOTUS seat, and because of that, a major part of her legacy will be giving conservatives a 6-3 majority.

Huge FF.

There will always be controversy over her decision not to retire earlier, but at the end of the day it was perfectly reasonable, from her viewpoint, to expect that America would never elect a man like Donald Trump, and that Hillary Clinton would be the next president. By the way, had Hillary won the 2008 election I suspect she would have retired during a Clinton presidency. She likely hoped to be replaced by a trailblazer for women like herself.

Judicial Activist. She legislated from the bench to suit her liberal values.

While not as preferable than if the courts simply were abolished, but sometimes what you got is the best thing you have at the current time.

FF, and her life and service should be celebrated, but I'm seeing way too many people honoring her for the wrong reasons.

She had a lifetime appointment and was free to retire whenever she wanted to. She is not responsible for the Senate GOP's actions. I am confident that she was completely at peace with her decision, as she should've been.

Like how Scalia legislated his conservative values?

This.
Good thing is that she had instead a longstanding and famous friendship with whom may be called her foremost "ideological foe" i.e. Justice Nino.

She was a FF but in 2014, she could of did the O'Connor thing under a Dem Prez and Dem Senate, and retired, she was 81 already and her health was already failing.

All 4 Clintons contributing to an R Revolution: Bill Clinton with the Gingrich Revolution,  both Gore and Hillary lost to Bush W and Trump, giving Scalia's and Kennedy's seat up to Rs and now Gingsburg gave her seat to Amy Coney Barrett.
