They will wait until after the election. Waiting will drive up turnout on their side. If they win, it’s in the bag. If they lose, they have nothing more to lose (no one’s remembering two years from now), and they appoint in a lame duck session.

I don't think there's going to be the political will to vote on a replacement before the elections.  Even McConnell's statement only commits to voting on a Trump appointee at some point.

They will definitely confirm in the lame duck session if they lose the presidency but hold the Senate (or vice versa, although that scenario is extremely unlikely).

If they lose both, perhaps the Democrats could persuade them not to confirm by threatening to pack the court.

If they hold both, I think they'd wait until after the inauguration because it just looks better, it doesn't cost much to wait a few more weeks, and they'd still be upholding McConnell's pledge to vote on a Trump appointee.

Try to get their nominee in as fast as possible, delaying only as much as is needed for any potential old-school Republicans to not throw a fit and wreck the whole process. They're very likely to lose the AZ Senate seat shortly after the election, and they will need a loyal vote on the Court to back-up their attempts to illegally hang onto power.

Forest Trump and Evil Mitch of the West will ram a right-wing hack judge through and Susan Collins will put up her most severly concerned face ever confirming him (or, unexpectedly, her).

Hopefully the first option. Can't risk anything, the stakes are too high.

I sometimes wonder why supreme Court nominations are so vital in elections, in Canada no one ever gives a crap about the judiciary. But I guess the right wing definately appoints hack to judicial branches under Trump

Only 1 of the 9 justices on the Canadian court has served even 9 years.

Number three. Wait until the election to help boost Trump. If he wins, which seems most likely at this point, confirm a new justice. If Biden wins, push through a vote in lame duck.

What are you basing this assertion on?
