Given the horrific, violent, decisive feel of 2020 so far - my gut says Cotton, but I really don't know what would happen to his Senate race. If Cotton is confirmed before November, wouldn't it automatically go to the Libertarian? (Only person left running)

Any Coney Barrett makes sense, but, I think people aren't thinking how badly Trump's base wants Roe repealed - and you know they're going to use this as their chance. Barrett would be another "deep state" agent who disappoints the hardcore Trump supporter.

Daniel Cameron, Kentucky Attorney General, helps show Trump has some compassion towards racial divide in America. Similar to Barrett though, I don't think he fits the growing Repeal Roe narrative in the party

Amy Coney Barrett. It makes no sense to nominate anyone else.

Has she expressed anti-Roe interpretation before?

Trump already said he was saving Barrett for the Ginsburg seat, so it'll probably be her.

She's a devout Catholic. I would be shocked if she didn't vote, rightfully so, to overturn Roe if it came before her.

The SCOTUS is not a legislative body, not even for the most Activist Jurists.

Samuel Alito has stated that Roe is "a precedent worthy of respect".  Stare Decisis, the adherence to precedent, is a powerful principle; it is ALWAYS a big deal when a previous precedent is overruled.  I am not convinced that Barrett's elevation to the bench would result in the overtuning of Roe.

Alito had no problem tossing a century old Montana law because it didn't give large corporations enough power to influence elections.
