Democrats are just screwed.  There's no two ways around it.  Trump and Mitch are going to shove through some far-right activist 45-year-old and the court will fulfill all of right-wingers' wildest dreams for the next twenty years.

It definitely helps, and it certainly helped last time.

It is what it is.  If they force a nominee in real quick before the election, it won't be an issue.  If they don't, it'll be a HUGE issue.

The ONLY reason I had any hope after this election is a GOP 6-3 court would be thwarted. Now there is no reason to care, may this country suffer whatever hell God decides fit for Trump and McConnell being put in charge in the first place

Nope, it’s just a law. Easily changeable, though they haven’t changed it since 1869 or so iirc.
