https://www.theepochtimes.com/poll-biden-ahead-in-rust-belt-but-presidential-race-a-deadlock-among-likely-voters_3504575.html

2,191 RV
Biden 46.7, Trump 40.7

1,440 LV
Biden 48.7, Trump 48.6

Note:  It appears that they didn't push undecideds in the RV sample, but did in the LV sample.

Let's not forget what the Epoch Times is:

Quote
The Epoch Times is an international multi-language newspaper and media company affiliated with the Falun Gong new religious movement, based in the United States.

They have a clear pro-Trump, anti-China agenda. This should not be regarded as an unbiased source, almost more like a Trump campaign internal.

Some more snippets from the Wikipedia page:

Quote
The Epoch Times has championed President Donald Trump's Spygate conspiracy theory in its news coverage and advertising, and the Epoch Media Group's Edge of Wonder videos on YouTube have spread the far-right, pro-Trump QAnon conspiracy theory.[7]

An NBC News report found that two of Edge of Wonder's hosts have been a creative director and chief photo editor at The Epoch Times respectively. The newspaper promoted Edge of Wonder videos in dozens of Facebook posts through 2019.[7] The Edge of Wonder hosts, according to The Daily Dot, "embrace QAnon completely" even though "almost nothing QAnon has foretold has actually taken place."[60]

During the February 2020 Iowa Democratic Caucuses, The Epoch Times shared viral disinformation from the conservative group Judicial Watch that falsely alleged inflated voter rolls.[61] The claim, which went viral on Facebook, was debunked by fact checkers and the Iowa secretary of state.[62][63] A Harvard media expert quoted by NBC News said The Epoch Times employed a "classic disinformation tactic" known as "trading up the chain," in which false stories are repackaged and shared.[61][7]

To echo this, just read the comments on the polling page - they are pure cancer.

Not only is the Epoch Times an insane paper, these results would be horrible for Trump even if they were remotely accurate. Down 6 nationally and tied across the rust belt is not good for
him when the rust belt includes OH and IA.

They clearly used an unordinarily strict LV screen that filtered out about a third of RV, of course not surprising given the source. Most high quality polls tend to filter out around 10-15% of voters with their LV screen

Lololol Epoch Times. I do happen to find their YouTube ads with that douchey loser captivating, so I usually watch them through to the end so they have to pay for my view. Take that!

If it's a tie in those combined Rust Belt states, Biden is probably up slightly in the tipping-point states he needs. This does seem like a dodgy poll though.

I take that about as seriously as I take the idea that I could manipulate my qi to fly around if I only join Falun Gong.

An idea also promoted by The Epoch Times.

I hope everyone realizes that the Falun Gong run The Epoch Times, right?

The people who say that their exercises will help you fly around and shoot energy blasts like Dragonball characters?

I would have thought that by now they would be a general "human rights in China" group rather than Qanon believers. But I guess once a cultist, always a cultist.

They can't really include it because it's a dumb conglomeration of battleground states.

It's not news worthy to keep going over polls tha show closer numbers for Trump than the RCP of 7 pts, like Rassy or Trafalgar or Gravis or Emerson, they dont account for the large Biden lead in AZ, CO, GA, IL, ME, MI, MN, NV, NH, NM, NC, OR, PA, VA and WI, in Early vote numbers. We go through the same scenarios evey day

You all know what they say: if you have to go around telling folks your data is “big,” it probably actually isn’t.

I have never heard of any of this before. I didn't think that the various right wing factions of the world could get any more bizarre.

I have never heard of any of this before. I didn't think that the various right wing factions of the world could get any more bizarre.

Falun Gong is a kind of sad story.

It was founded in the 90s by Li Hongzhi as an offshoot of Daoism (the weird kinds of Daoism, with stories of immortal masters jumping 30 feet and firing energy blasts and all that good stuff). Li Hongzhi claimed that he had mastered a series of exercises that, if performed under his movement's guidance, would allow you to unlock all sorts of crazy supernatural powers, including flight.

Falun Gong grew REALLY popular REALLY quickly in China. So quickly that by the late 1990s an estimated 50+ million people were practicing Falun Gong. The insanely rapid growth of the movement terrified the hell out of the Chinese Communist Party, which outlawed the practice of Falun Gong in 1999 with extremely strict laws.

Falun Gong's leader, Li Hongzhi, moved to the United States along with a lot of his inner circle and has since spent much of his time and money funding right wing anti-Chinese movements in the US and the rest of the West. Have you heard of the Chinese dance troupe Shen Yun? I'm sure you have: their posters and ads carpet the entire United States. It's a Falun Gong front group and if you go you're subjected to hours of Falun Gong propaganda.

The Epoch Times is another one of their fronts. It's a newspaper you can get for free (of course you can, they're desperate for people to read it) which features grotesque and horrifying stories of the Chinese government treating Falun Gong prisoners as living organ donors, just carving them up and removing their organs while they're still alive. The goal of The Epoch Times is to make Americans hate the government of China, full stop. Back when I was in DC a decade ago, I had the experience multiple times of having elderly Chinese women who barely spoke English try to shove copies of The Epoch Times into my hand saying "For free, for free" over and over. Nowadays, they're in league with Trump and are making a BIG web push at Trump people, a group of people already predisposed to hate the Chinese government (and gullible towards obvious scams). Come for MAGA, stay for ancient Chinese secret exercises that will teach you how to fly.

Wow! What a story, Mikado. I especially never knew the connection of Shen Yun to this all. I could understand their hatred of the Chinese government but at the same time this "religious movement" sounds like it borders on being as nutty and unethical as Scientology.
