Never thought I'd long for the days when the Tea Party defined the GOP, but here we are.

Some like Joe Walsh have even gone full Never Trump and pro-Biden.

Religious Right has long been terrible, and has basically merged with the MAGA cult at this point.

I'd take the Ted Cruz religious right, but when I think religious right I think Pat Robertson "burn the gays" type folks.

If Tea Party means Ron Paul / Justin Amash type people, then of course them. If its Sarah Palin, Allen West, Steve King, Louie Gohmert, etc. then I probably lean Religious Right.

Cruz is a Tea Partier who only holds up the Bible to distract you from his lying.

No, it's still two very distinct groups, even if the religious right (that's a bad term, but whatever) supports Trump.  The way the issues are framed and the rhetoric around why the two groups are supporting Trump are very different.

Anyway, y'all know which is my favorite of these three! :}

Jesus, Religious Right by a process of elimination.

In a few years, we might all vote for MAGA cult in such a poll since the two alternatives are QAnon and outright fascism/national socialism.

Ugh, tough choice. If you're only looking at positions On The Issues the MAGA cult might actually be the least bad, but when you factor in political culture and influence on the national consciousness it's clearly the worst.

Needless to say all are terrible.

I guess it depends on your definition of the Tea Party. The traditional Tea Party isn't that bad comparatively, they are at least consistently anti-war and anti-executive overreach. The problem is the types that interlock with the MAGA cult, like the Palin's of the world.

I'd still say them though as the Religious Right are right on nothing and the vast majority threw their hat with the MAGA cult.

Agree with Nathan re: MAGA.

To justify this a bit more, one of the most abhorrent characteristics of the current GOP is its extreme hypocrisy, which is found in bucket-loads in both the Religious Right and the MAGA cult. The Tea Party, to their credit, were at least consistent in attacking “big gubmint” in both the Democratic Party and their own party. As has been previously mentioned, though, most Teabaggers are probably now cultists.
