Realistically, this is probably Trump's ceiling in Virginia:

But it probably won't happen.

Yup, he'll end up with 54% or above. Biden is a good fit for the state, but it wouldn't have been anything but Safe D regardless of the nominee. Even with Sanders VA wouldn't have been a close call.

He probably does.  Turnout wasn't particularly low downstate and it was still a blowout in 2017.  NoVa is going to turn out in unheard of numbers, trust me.  Just look at the primary and the kinds of insane numbers Biden racked up.  You see Biden signs everywhere even in the really wealthy parts of McLean, Vienna and Great Falls, which are really the only heavily populated parts of NoVa that Republicans can win or at least break even in.  Rural areas won't offset that.  Most likely Biden +10/11, with the possibility of getting up to Biden 15.

Probably yes.  I'll be surprised if his margin doesn't reach double digits.

Will be 56% Biden to 43% Trump based on national climate.

Ironically, Biden won't do as well as Harris would have done had she been the nominee.

Biden/Harris 55%
Trump/Pence 44.4%

That map probably represents a 1-2 point win for Trump. I agree it won't happen.

I am guessing Biden wins Virginia by 10 points.  In fact its quite possible the state might be called on exit polls alone, which is something we have yet to see, but it is trending leftward.  In 2000 it was right of country, but 2010 close to a bellwether, now it sits left of country.

Trump's definitely not going to keep it within single digits. My prediction is Biden +13, but won’t be surprised if it’s higher than that.

This, but unironically.

Biden is more likely to win VA by over 12 points, then Trump winning.

https://www.princewilliamtimes.com/news/poll-biden-has-14-point-lead-over-trump-in-virginia-support-for-mail-in-voting/article_74cab7e0-f929-11ea-81a2-67cf5fb3e44d.html

New poll has Biden up 14 and he is winning all three major population centers.  If this is true then it suggests that Trump is probably going to have a lot of trouble in Pennsylvania and Michigan.  The clear lead in NoVa and perhaps Richmond was expected but not necessarily tidewater.  The thought was that Northam won there because of his ties to the area but it seems like even small metro suburbs are shifting.

Is it true that Virginia is the new Maryland?

Why?

Is Virginia more conservative than Maryland, or the other way around?

Biden winning the Tidewater (at least in this poll) is a very interesting development.

It’s not a question of whether he’ll beat Northam it’s a question of whether or not he’ll come close to Kaine
