In theory, yes, but I don’t know any women who fit the description. Thankfully there is only one Donald Trump.

But yes, I think Trump’s base would have been perfectly fine with a ”nasty woman” president as long as she was a nasty woman on their side.

Obviously- sexism isn't hurting Marine Le Pen or Pauline Hanson.

Yes for the primary, but no for the general.

While I agree that women can be populist demagogues, the US has such a unique gender gap in its size and cultural scope that it's hard to apply lessons from other countries to us.

For instance, I was floored to find out how minimal the gender gap for Brexit was. A referendum like that in the US would have produced a big gender gap. That kind of divide would hurt women in right leaning populism just because there are less women on the right.

Brexit is different since supporting brexit wasn’t an ideological position of the left or right- if you look at LePen or Hanson there is a gender divide as you’d expect.

A three times married woman, with multiple bankruptcies, bad orange makeup, crass demeanor, and pure bullsh*t spitballing of every serious policy question would not have lasted more than couple of weeks.
