I don't know, but it's probably between Lean and Likely R no matter who it is. Republicans have a high floor in Florida, and if he was able to beat Bill Nelson in the midst of a historic blue wave, I have a hard time seeing him losing in 2024.

Of course, there's a good chance Scott runs for President in 2024, so this speculation may be moot anyway.

I would say the race would be a true toss up to start. Scott is not well liked, the question is who will be the democrat

If dems pass gerrymandering reforms in congress, Murphy will be re elected in 22(even in an R wave year) and run against Scott in 2024. If we dont pass that, Rs will draw her out and shell run against Rubio instead. Nikki Fried may also run

Depends on who runs for the seat in 2022. If said challenger loses, he or she won't likely run again unless it's a nailbiter in a Republican wave year. I think Stephanie Murphy or Val Demings would be good candidates. Actually hope Demings runs in 2022 already.

The more I think about it, the more I like Ted Deutch as Scott's opponent.  His district covers a significant chunk of Miami-Dade, and as Chair of the House Ethics Committee he has the background to hit Scott hard on his scummy corruption.  He's the right age, has the right experience, and is just vanilla enough not to scare the squishy moderates the way Gillum did in 2018.

My guess is it would be Demings. The party is boosting her profile, and that's a good sign. Depending on how she does this year and 2022, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell would also be a good choice. Beyond that it's a thin bench
