Jungle primaries are awful.  The main deciding factor isn't who the voters like best but which party is able to clear the field the best.  Just look at what's going on in Georgia, where we may have a GOP-vs-GOP general election because Warnock is having trouble clearing the field.

Imagine if the presidential primaries were a jungle system and Ted Cruz had challenged Trump and received 40% of the vote or something.  Since the Democrats were unable to clear the field we'd end up with a Trump-vs-Cruz general election.
