Instead of running for the Senate in New York in 2000, Hillary Clinton returns to Arkansas and runs against Tim Hutchinson in 2002.

Who wins?

Hillary wins by more than Pryor did. Bill Clinton was still very popular in Arkansas in 2002: no way his wife wouldn’t win by even more than a Generic D like Pryor.

I honestly kinda wish she did this.  It might have kept AR a little more Democratic for a little longer.

She would have won again in 2008, probably still be tapped by Obama for SoS (assuming she didn’t win the presidency due to butterfly effect), and not have to worry about 2014. Then in 2016, the state and others in middle America might have thought a little better of her. Maybe or maybe not enough to make a difference, but it couldn’t have hurt at least.
