The problem with personal finance, though, is that it's a pretty murky domain filled with snake oil, subjective beliefs represented as objective truths, different philosophies, and obviously, vastly different needs of students. I don't think a course in personal finance would move the needle much on students' financial outcomes.
I'd rather see more emphasis on civics and general business education. And students need to learn a bit more about the world. Foreign policy is often the most important electoral issue, and you can't be expected to make reasoned votes if your knowledge of the world is limited to Nazis were bad, China has a lot of people, and Mexico is south.
