eg https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/11/03/us/elections/exit-polls-ohio.html?action=click&module=ELEX_results&pgtype=Interactive&region=StateSubNav

i was curious by when people suddenly decided that X state or Y state was out of reach for democrats or republicans following release of polls (though i know the exit polls don't necessarily pool from a proportionate population - it seems that the relative percentages in this election were mostly predictive of how tight a race would be).
