Strange how coal hasn't been mentioned in this thread - Wyoming is the Nation's biggest producer and the market is in the toilet right now. This has necessitated some very unpopular budget cuts. Doubt Wyoming progressives are really capable if offering a meaningful alternative tho

No, Wyoming's population is very monolithic and evenly distributed. AZ and NM had a large Mexican and Native American population for decades. CO and NV have primate regions that make up more than half the state voting population. None of that is present it Wyoming
