I am a candidate for the next by-election to the Frémont Parliament.

Of course Siren (the appointed incumbent) is going to win as easily as a Republican in Wyoming, but I believe in having multiple choices on the ballot.
Take me seriously but not too seriously.

l have communitarian leanings, but I could stress different topics depending on the situation.
I will be an independent voice. A real one. I have no party. I believe I can work with pretty much anyone as long as they are being fair.
I have strong moral convictions but I am open to compromise.

Maybe I'll go more into details the next days.

Even though I told Siren of the opportunity to run, I'd like to help you.

1. Use Discord

Here are the links to the general Atlas discord and the Fremont one because discord is useful and fun.

main server: https://discord.gg/kEksGSJ
Fremont Region: https://discord.gg/e33TQxB

2. PM voters, on Peebs registration list, you should PM voters, discord is also useful as well because you can see what people are online.

No, I will not join discord. The less online platforms the better. If this condemns me to lose every single time, so be it!

As a fellow candidate whose first electoral attempt was to contest a seemingly hopeless by-election for a regional legislature, respect, and best of luck!

The by-election has just started and the voting booth will be open until September 21st at 2:44 am Eastern Daylight Time (or I should say 8:44 am Central European Summer Time).

Go vote!

The election has now officially closed.

I was soundly defeated exactly as expected. The only thing standing between me receiveing only my own vote and what happened was MB (whom I don't think voted in a serious way btw) lol.

I wish Siren all the best.

I'd like to echo Siren's comments in the earlier thread - new players are always welcome in Denver, and you'll have another shot when Parli's up again this November. Best of luck.

Reminder that I am running a write-in campaign for the House.

Ranked-choice voting can do wonders. I hope it'll do them for me too.

Endorsed for a high pref or first pref! I haven't made my mind yet but your pref will be high as I support independent candidates.

The electoral results have not been certified yet but I am sure I have not lost. I only received one first preference... write-in is a terrible idea.

Congratulations to the electeds.

In general, getting elected without the support of any party (especially Labor or Fed support) is very hard if not impossible. You need huge amounts of name recognition and a good campaign behind you, and a ton of luck to pull it off.

The only example in recent times is actually Poirot in August of 2019 really, where he got a weird coalition of dissident Laborites and Federalists and won a seat as an indy on merit; with a wonderful campaign (rumoured to have been ran by tmth)

I don't really count this campaign as he had a party backing him even if the Libs aren't the most powerful force; as well as in the end some Labor support)

Also, I had to get someone who may have not voted to vote for Poirot, some zombies to vote for Poirot who got invalidated and Labor may have done a write in had they could.

It's much easier in Fremont, since most elections have 4-5 candidates.

I know but I'll try and I'll try and I'll try again and as Carlo Calenda would say "if I fail, at least I've failed well".

As I've said to you previously, might be wise to try your hand at Fremont Parliament as a non-write-in - we need new active players, and you'd be a great addition! Also a good place to get legislative experience.

I am very likely to run (not as a write-in) for Frémont Parliament this November, in which case, you owe me a vote. I will announce during next month I guess.
