Greetings, my fellow citizens of Lincoln. I stand before you today to announce that I’m running as a Labor candidate in the upcoming by-election to the Lincoln Council! First of all, I'd like to commend the man I intend to succeed and who has sadly decided to resign, Councillor cookiedamage, for his remarkable tenure. From the bottom of my heart, I thank him for his service and I wish him the best in whatever endeavours he pursues.

Now, I want to tell you why I've decided to run for Councillor. Even though I just moved here, I'm eager to serve you and deliver bold, progressive policy for the betterment of our great region. Especially in these trying times, we must use the tools of government to lift up the most unfortunate members of our society.

I’m for worker’s rights, reproductive freedom and fighting climate change. I believe the rich should pay their fair share, just like the rest of us; I believe health care and education are fundamental rights; and, I believe in the right to bear arms within the limits of common-sense regulations.

These are my principles. I promise you that when I’m elected to Lincoln Council, I will work as hard as I can to fulfil them and make you proud of living in this region. Thank you, may OC bless you, and may OC bless Lincoln.

Victory speech



Thank you, thank you. Hello Boston! What a beautiful night.

The electorate has spoken, the results are in, and we won big!

I want to thank my supporters for making this victory possible and all Lincoln voters, regardless of which candidate they chose, for exercising their sacred right to vote.

I also want to thank my opponent Ishan for running a robust and spirited campaign, though we haven’t seen the last of him, that I can tell you. I’m sure he has bright political future ahead of himself.

Lastly, I want to thank the Labor Party for backing my first bid for elected office, their unwavering support has been absolutely crucial for my campaign and I look forward to fighting for our shared values in the Council.

Now that the election is over, it is time to move on to the next stage of our democratic process and do the people’s business. I will strive be your servant and I will do my utmost to make Lincoln a safer, cleaner, fairer place. And with a clear vision and a full heart, there is nothing that can stand in my way! Onwards!
