Though Ted Cruz spent the entire senate campaign describing his Democratic challenger Beto O'Rourke as too left-wing extreme for a red state like Texas, it ended up Cruz winning by just 2 % and so of course that kind of strategy helped him. But what is specific is that O'Rourke was the only Democratic senate nominee in 2018 to explicitly commit to voting to impeach Donald Trump, which I guess definitely alienated conservative and some independent voters.

What if Beto O'Rourke didn't publicly called for Trump's impeachment during the senate campaign?
