I liked Mr. Fresh and Immy -- our local Idahoians.

MarKDel was awesome, too.

I think Fresh will return one of these days if I remember correctly he is on a vacation for a few months at least thats what he said in the GOP private forums ages ago.

Is there anyway we can bring MarkDel back?  Has anyone heard from him?  Does anyone know how to contact him?

Yeah, well Ryan's vacation was to end February at the latest, he peeked back in once or twice and left a post or two, but the and VP Al (at the time realpolitik) really used to define the forum, basically.

In some ways, I kinda miss the old days of the new forum.  There were far fewer of us so it was all more personal.  Felt like I new a lot of those members.  After January, things changed real drastically.

Well, when I first signed up in like October, I became like the seventh most posting person at this forum with about sixty five posts after like two weeks. Now look at me! I don't know where you guys post so much. Part of it, I guess, is that I don't really hang out at fantasy elections, and many of my posts tend to be longer, so its like a smaller quantity but better quality. But still.

You know though, when I showed up in fall I had a sense of new kid on the blockedness. Now I'm a realtive old standby and no one gives a darn. (That's our shortstop, btw).

I'd say that only about 500 of my posts are connected to the fantasy elections.  I don't post there nearly as often as a lot of other people.  I acctually gave it up for a month.

Supersoulty, JFK and others,

Thanks for the comments. I am temporarily back at the forum. The death of Ronald Reagan brought me back to see what was being said at this forum, and the other forums I used to frequent. While the comments and discourse have been civil for the most part at this forum, some of the Democratic and liberal forums have been truly disgraceful. And you have just enough of those people at this forum to ruin the place...and no I don't mean the comical posters like CTGuy...I mean real posters who get away with making ludicrous statements about our President and other important U.S. leaders. Part of me enjoys giving these hateful Democrats the rhetorical version of an "ass kicking" as I used to do to them on a regular basis, but their behavior is less amusing to me as the prospect of a Kerry Administration has now become all too real.

JFK,

Like I said, that used to be a lot of fun, but as we have gotten closer to the actual election, and it has become clear to me that Kerry has about a 50% chance of winning, I no longer find any humor in conversing with most of the Democrats here. Sure, I like talking to Dems like you, Ben, Gustaf, Nation and a few others, but for the most part, I see people who alternately depress and frighten me with their views...

Mark Del,

Welcome back. I hope you choose to stay the course here on this forum. I think the chance of Bush winning is still better then 50% so don't get your hopes up!

Welcome back MarkDel! Smiley Hope you stay longer...there will always be fanatics, you can win by standing up for your ideas and convincing those more reasonable. I think the chance of Kerry winning is much lower than 50% and I also think that a Kerry administration wouldn't be as disastrous as you think...just like the GOP isn't guys like Robertson or Buchanan the Democratic party isn't Michael Moore and gwbush.com.

Welcome Back MarkDel, its good to hear from you again Smiley and I hope you stick around.

And its good to hear you enjoy my contributions Cheesy

Your point on the Liberal Forums is dead right! Some of the disgusting things which have been said about Reagan I really thought I’d never hear…it’s really worrying. But don’t fear these people aren’t the mainstream of the Democratic Party their really far out on the fringes mostly… that said with every passing day I worry about the direction of my party… ah well, so long as there are a few good moderates, populists and blue dogs and the radical secularist, liberals don’t take completely take over the party I’ll try and keep fighting the “Good Fight”.

…and Once again Welcome Back Smiley

Your party has been hijacked by the liberals. I would be a Democrat but they now leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Guys, I'm not long lost.  I haven't been posting as much lately because I was really busy at work, and then I went on vacation for 2 weeks.

The whole campaign has been in kind of a hiatus for a little while.  Once there are some real developments (hopefully favorable to the president), I'll probably post more often.

BTW, I posted some of my thoughts about Former President Reagan in the thread dedicated to his death.  I have missed Reagan for a long time, and would have loved to hear his thoughts on the current challenges facing the country.

For those of us with long enough memories (back to the old Forum), I choose Brandon20...with JustJoe83 a close second.

I didn't know you went back that far, NYM?  Did you change your moniker?

No, unless you count changing it from Nym90 to President Nym90. Wink

I go back to March 2001 on the old Forum, one of the original members of the old board. I post more now than I used to on the old board, though. I was somewhat of a lurker for a while.

Look up the old archives, my first post was 4/1/2001.

I recall seeing that your first ever post, Jmfcst, was asking people for copies of the 2000 election coverage on TV for sale. I responded in that thread. Wink April 2002 if my memory serves correctly.

That's what I thought. Smiley Glad to see you back Dazzle. You should check out the fantasy elections, where you can both vote in the exciting re-run of the tied senatorial election and vote in the presidential election in 2 weeks. Smiley (in which I am running...)

One of my favorite posters who is no longer here is J-Mann.  He's a really cool guy and offered a lot of good analysis on issues.

Definitely J-Mann and MarkDel. I remember MarkDel came back for election night which was a nice treat. Also, Mr. Fresh, Nym, and badnarikin04.
