1) don jr. (most obvious answer)
2) ivanka (obviously donald's favorite child, but hamstrung by a second X chromosome)
3) eric (smarter than don jr., which may be an asset or a liability)
4) donald j. trump, your favorite president

I really don't see this happening. The GOP is going to turn on Trump the day he leaves office — at least they should if they want to recover and expand their electorate for 2022 and beyond.  He has done some very deep damage to the party, but I have high expectations they will recover.  Both major parties have in the past.  Look at the epic disasters of Goldwater, McGovern, and Mondale, or the one termers of recent past, Carter and Bush Sr,  both whom had approval ratings in the 30s during their final year.

I think we won’t be able to know till at least mid-2022. It seems logical that the GOP will turn on Trump immediately after he loses - perhaps similar to what’s happened to Corbyn in the UK - but Trump has shown a staying power that few credited him with and the party will be far more right wing and Pro-Trump in 2021 than it was in 2016 so it’s not impossible there’d be a space for Don Jr I’d be wanted it.

Sr. will not run. He will follow the Palin playbook. I could see him saying something like "I want to run again, but the swamp won't let me." And the lost cause narrative will begin.

If the race is within 200 EVs, Trump runs for reelection. Otherwise, I'd guess tilt Jr. over Eric - only one runs. We're not getting the Republican edition of Miliband vs Miliband, sadly.

None, because Jared Kushner is going to run.

I don't think he will. I get the impression that he likes being behind the scenes rather than being in the spot lite. I can see him being the Dick Cheney to Don Jr's Dubya though.

Trump Sr. could waltz to the nomination again if he's still walking and still wants it. I don't know if he will, but I know he'll tease the hell out of it

Jr. is the most vocal of the group, so he seems to be the most likely. But I doubt it. It'll be someone new who draws from the rhetoric of Trump.

Jr. He's enough of a dumbass though that I see him crashing and burning. So much so I wouldn't be surprised if Daddy said no on a potential bid.

The politics that Ivanka has to play to win the nomination would basically get her kicked out of the respectable NY circles so she won't run, even if The Donald wants her to.

I don't think Trump wants it again, if he's still alive.

Trump serving two non-consecutive terms would be the most insane thing in the world that I can almost see it happening

Is Ivanka really still in respectable NY circles? You would think her dad would be a large enough source of shame to make her a pariah as it is.

This is quite the take. For one thing, Trump has almost universal approval among the base, despite a small percentage of elite GOPers that hate him and will use his loss to try and steer the party in the Romney/Kasich direction (it won't work). Any attempt to sideswipe Trump in 2024 is going to backfire spectacularly, people in the base will not appreciate it. And he doesn't even have approval in the 30's, its in the mid to low 40's.
