From NBC News:

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/justice-ginsburg-officiates-person-friends-wedding-weeks-after-cancer-hospitalization-n1238952

Quote
WASHINGTON - A tweet from a new bride brought the first sighting of ailing Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in months - officiating at an outdoor wedding Sunday.

The photo of the 87-year-old Ginsburg, who announced in July she is being treated for cancer, shows her during the wedding ceremony of Barb Solish and Danny Kazin, according to Solish's Twitter feed.

"2020 has been rough, but yesterday was Supreme," Solish tweeted on Monday.

In the photo, Ginsburg is wearing her judicial robe with a decorative black-and-white embroidered collar.

The justice is a close friend of one of the families and the festivities took place outdoors at a private residence, court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said.

Solish noted on Twitter that both she and her husband "tested negative" before the ceremony, presumably for COVID-19.

[...]

And here's the picture of her doing the honors, courtesy of the bride:

Trump will still have another 4 years to nominate high court justices.

Seems it's more likely than not that she'll be ok until Biden and the Dems take control, probably even longer if she wants.

What is she supposed to do? Stay locked down at home under 24/7 medical supervision? She's a person, you know...

The red avatars view her only as a commodity to stop Trump. I love RBG, don't get me wrong, but I'm not circling her like a vulture waiting for Amy Comey Barrett. Let RGB have some fun, she's earned it.

She is literally the only thing preventing Trump from being a fascist.

There's something called the United States Constitution, the House of Representatives (controlled by Democrats), Chief Justice Cocktail Party, and of course, the election in November...

Yes, Trump has authoritarian proclivities, but to say RBG is the literal last line of defense is hyperbolic.

If Biden wins, she should still retire in June 2021. Period.

You say that as if he isn't already actively dismantling out society and institutions with zero accountability or consequences as it is.

If RBG leaves, there's nothing Roberts will be able to do? I guess I could see Gorsuch being the voice of reason but the chances of that are like 10-20%.

Yeah, lfromnj deserves full credit for that nickname. I think it's an apt (and obviously sarcastic) description of a certain type of conservative.

So in your opinion would a “Cocktail Conservative” be basically a RINO? Or how would you describe it?

Roberts still has conservative decisions but when it comes to the stuff that might outrage the DC libs the most who are the people he meets at social functions which is where the cocktail comes from. So he was willing to flip flop on that abortion decision but he was more than happy to put national RTW for all public unions. Funnily enough its not something I disagree too much with for a politician, however I  disapprove of it for judicial reasoning.

So he's creating the type of socially moderate and economically conservative decisions that you agree with in principle but you believe that they arrived at on an insincere level?

Like I said though, it doesn't matter if Trump and McConnell are in power when RBG leaves the bench. There will be 4 solidly conservative justices, 3 solidly liberal justices, and him. Having a fifth solidly conservative justice up pretty much means they are The Court. I could imagine a situation where he becomes more powerful where Trump wins (but very narrowly), has a poor midterm, and Ginsburg survives two more years. Maybe (but probably not) Trump makes a deal with Schumer (or Durbin) to put Garland back up there and Roberts retains his power. Most likely, if Ginsburg leaves early and there are no replacements, maybe Roberts gets to decide whether or not a decision actually gets made.

Until Trump’s out of office, that’s exactly what she should be doing.  If it’s inconvenient...well...maybe she should’ve thought of that before deciding not to step down during Obama’s first term.

She's a human being, not your personal slave on the court. What a disgusting, and callous post. I hope RBG keeps on trucking on. She's an icon, and she's brilliant, and while I don't like her judicial philosophy, I can still see beyond basic partisan hackery.
