Faulconer is pretty clearly telegraphing a run. Going to be satisfying to watch CAGOP's golden boy get absolutely clobbered

Is he planning a Governor run, because there's no way he wins that. Running for Lt. Gov, Treasurer, Insurance Commissioner all make more sense, as does a run for CA-49, if he's interested in that.

I've heard people compare Newsom's dinner party to the infamous picture of Chris Christie on the beach during a state government shutdown.

Difference is that Newsom is not in a very hostile state for his party. If he loses re-election, we're probably talking about a wave worse than 2010, and maybe even worse than 1994

I don't want to get my hopes up but even some of my parents Democrat friends are upset with Newsom and are leaning towards supporting a recall.
Honestly I think Newsom has enough enemies in the Democratic Party that if he is recalled some anti-Newsom Democrat will jump in, there is absolutely no way that the Republicans win a recall, and if such a recall is driven mainly by Republican signatories, then Newsom will coast against whoever the Republicans put up.

139,127 ballots returned

Democrats 86,139 (61.9%)
Ind/Other 30,054 (21.6%)
Republicans 22,934 (16.5%)

uhhh....this doesn't suggest a close race at all.

At all

Given the recall is polling around 54-46 or so, it's pretty clear that one of two things is true: either a large amount of Democrats intend to vote for recall or the polling samples were far less Democratic than the actual electorate and Newsom will coast as a result, I'd lean towards the first option being more true, though I could buy the second (especially since that SUSA poll had like a Biden+13 electorate)

The all-important "who will win Orange County" question has apparently been answered.

Are there any Cox 2018 districts other than CA-39 and CA-45 that voted no?

Wait where did you get this CD data, I've been looking for it everywhere.

From Wikipedia. This map shows that Cox won CA-39 and CA-45 in 2018.

No I mean the evidence that CA-39 voted No, I can't find LA and Riverside numbers for that district

CA-39 doesn't cover Riverside County.

I mean San Bernardino, I thought Chino Hills was in Riverside for some reason.
