Even Californian neoliberals don't seem to blame mental illness for homeless people existing. They'll blame Texas (Newsom) or some random NIMBY and never Prop. 13. But they know better than to claim we can just wave homelessness away magically like Yang thinks we can.

If Adams initially leads but loses the final round, does he say the election was stolen? Of course the whole point of IRV is that it might give a different winner.

It happened in the 2010 Oakland mayor race.

Not that I think I know better than him, but Wasserman really seems to be jumping the gun here with less than 20% of the first round votes in.

It was a 10 point lead with 100% of the first round votes in Oakland.

Democrats will need to pivot hard, nationally, to be tough on crime after this. Even their base voters in the Bronx are sick of the "defund" nonsense. Electoral disaster in 2022 awaits otherwise.
