I'm surprised Maya Wiley isn't connecting more. Why is that?

Happy to hear Garcia is on the rise.

I honestly dont see the Garcia hype.

Shes not Adams or Yang (Or Morales). For a good chunk of folks, that's enough.

Yep. Garcia seems good though, but yeah, the rest of the bunch is looking awful, so

Did Garcia benefit from the debate?

Would be nice if we got some new polling on this race...

Didn’t seem to matter.

(For what it’s worth, my friend group of around 15 gay men in Manhattan who all watched the debate together had 100% first-round support for Garcia. This group was splintered among Stringer, Yang, McGuire, Wiley, Morales and a lot of undecided a month ago.)

Yeah, it appears that she has definitely consolidated a lot of voters in the past few weeks

I would be happy with Garcia or Wiley.

I dont see why people still think Adams is #1? Seems he's gotten a lot of criticism over the past few weeks, while I would assume the moderates are going for Garcia instead of Adams.

Has anyone polled which candidates are most disliked and therefore will be least transfer friendly?

This is what makes me think Adams is unlikely. He may be #1 or #2 among 1st-choicers, but he doesn't seem to be anybody else's 2nd or 3rd choice. He seems to be well liked among his supporters but that's...about it

Waiting to see a more recent poll to see if Garcia or Wiley have continued to make an impact. Even that Ipsos poll is incredibly outdated at this point.

I'm still confused as to why Adams is leading this race, and even so with the RCV.

Eric Adams is far worse than I ever thought.

This is exactly what makes me puzzled as to why Adams is #1 right now???

While I like Wiley, Garcia seems the most 'rational minded' out of the bunch.

Glad to see Garcia in 2nd. Hopefully she can continue gaining momentum and grabs #1 from Adams.

The Manhattan Institute also has a poll out today with Adams > Garcia > Wiley > Yang, but has Garcia taking over Adams in the end.

I would honestly probably go Garcia > Wiley > Yang if I was a NYC voter and that's it. Wouldn't even rank Adams, with him being the absolute worst among the bunch.

Despite Garcia basically snubbing Yang, Yang is still explicitly asking his supporters to rank her #2. Interesting..

She's not snubbing him. She said he never asked her to do the same for him that he's doing for her, and he confirmed that.

Also the fact that anyone would want Adams to be running this city, especially after the last week.

What Yang and Garcia is doing is strategic. plain and simple. anyone being mad at that should then just be mad at the entire RCV system then

Have a feeling Wiley’s momentum has faded / not gone high enough initially. The buzz just doesn’t seem to be there.

Going to be closely watching the Council elections as I’ve sort of given up on the mayors race. If we get a decently progressive council it could maybe mitigate the worst of Adams or Garcia.

These two should not even be in the same sentence.

Hoping Garcia can pull out a win; Adams will definitely get the top spot in initial ranking, but I think Garcia might be able to grab enough #2s to slide ahead. At least hopefully.

How many mail/absentee ballots are out? Interesting to see how those come down, b/c I'd assume they'd be better for Garcia/Wiley than Adams.

87K already-returned & 150K outstanding, none of which have yet to be counted.

So we've got a decent sized amount left, which could lower Adams back into the 20s, and boost Garcia into the 20s. At least that's what I'm hoping.

Adams needs to calm down. He didn't even win a third of the vote on the first round and when all is said and done, likely wont have a massive win against whoever comes in 2nd (also that small chance he doesn't win at all)... so he needs to stop acting like he just won with 50%+ of the vote

Gotta admit, I like some of what he says here despite the vanity. Democrats probably should return more to being the party of working/common people and less the party of woke wine moms and such. That doesn’t mean we should go full populist/soccon or anything, or abandon intellect and our educated base. But it does mean we shouldn’t live in bubbles and ivory towers using rhetoric that alienates the very people we claim to be fighting for.

who is doing that? a few members of the democratic party =/= the democratic party as a whole
