I want Yang to win just so he has a path to the Presidential nomination.

I wonder if the recent string of endorsements for Wiley will help her. The primary is still almost 2 weeks away. Not a lot of time left to consolidate the progressive vote but it's still a chance none the less.

Anyways as long as Yang doesn't win.

The recent poll has Wiley second to Adams.

Why do so many people have Shaun Donovan in their top five? Other than when he didn't know how much a house costs, I haven't heard a single thing about him.

Donovan is actually decent, he's very smart and I accept that his housing answer was a brainfart, but he's terrible at campaigning and his debate performance was derided. That's why he hasn't gotten much traction.

How long will it take the vote counters to count each round of this thing? Will we see the results come out round by round?

Apparently they are expecting all votes available on election night to have their first preferences announced though a normal process. Then NY's stupid ballot laws take effect and we have to wait weeks on top of the rational wait for ballot curing and postmarked mail ballots. Once all those votes are accounted for and all first preferences are known, they now begin the reallocation.

I'm still confused as to why Adams is leading this race, and even so with the RCV.

Crime. People don't want to go back to the 70s, 80s, and early 90s.

God, why is Emerson just so noisy? First a Garcia surge, & now a Wiley surge, all the while showing a 14-point swing among undecideds in 8 days!? I don't wanna read too much into it, but I hope there's still time for Adams to be stopped.

Small sample size and huge numbers of people who haven't decided on their first choice.

Wouldn't surprise me if there's people who are deciding between Wiley and Garcia for #1 and #2 and switched those two over the course of polls.

Because he's an established Brooklyn politician with strong links to the black community and an experienced record on the top issue of the campaign?

Yeah, no way Adams lives there. You can tell by the photo. This is one of the more amusing campaign incidents in a while.

I'm completely neutral on this race, so me saying this is not necessarily a statement of support for Adams, but his ties to the city's black community should not be understated. That's what got De Blasio nominated back in 2013.

I would still first-pref Yang. I'd also prefer Adams winning over Garcia and maybe even Wiley.

That "top issue" thing hasn't really impacted him. He's stayed steady while Yang, whose campaign is all about quality of life bullsh**t has dropped. There's plenty of flux but he has remained pretty steady.

I’m surprised Crane of all people is defending a Bloomberg/Obama appointee

Bloomberg had problems as mayor but is greatly preferable to someone like Giuliani.

The department under Donovan's purview can be considered actually wildly successful. Bloomberg was responsible for more affordable housing being built than any other mayor in NYC history. Was it enough? Absolutely not. Did the administration fail to rein in predatory developers like Steven Ross and his Hudson Yards abortion? Yes. But Donovan achieved many of the goals he had been tasked with, so I give him credit for that. He has the managerial experience and executive chops to do well at the job.

The apartment photos look like a rent-a-furniture thing you do when you're selling a house. That sleigh bed for example, but then it's not even up against a wall. Throw in the random art with political messaging in mind.

Otherwise known as the "I have a district with both Brooklyn progressives and African Americans in it, and I want a position in future Dem leadership" endorsement.

"Progressive" activists and the media were too busy destroying Yang to care about the insane right-wing things Adam was saying a few months ago.

May 5th and page 33 of this thread is the original discussion.

Thank God I won't be living in NYC for the next four years. I mean, I love this city, but if it's gonna Adams or Yang. Good god.

Eric Adams literally wants to end summer vacation and establish online school with 300-400 kids to a teacher.
source? I very much doubt that would get much support.

This is honestly one the most absurd things since “build the wall”
