This is the sort of race that should have a proper televised debate for the primary. I don't know how US TV marketing/local networks work so put it on SNY if you have to.

IIRC there already was a debate planned with some of the democratic candidates

I am probably going to meet Yang today. Any questions?

Furthermore, if you want to ask questions to all non Yang candidates in a Zoom forum

Here is a good one, it's tomorrow

Ask him how soon he plans to resign to primary Biden after winning the race

New York doesn't have a resign-to-run law as far as I'm aware. He could primary Biden or Harris as the sitting Mayor of New York City, it's just the optics for that would look horrible.

It was more a joke about how he doesn’t really care about being Mayor

Very big endorsement for Wiley, Velázquez is key to the Puerto Rican vote. Perhaps Wiley can break out ahead of Donovan and McGuire, especially with this and the 1199 endorsement

Gonna be the first one to say the obligatory Memerson

I ain't buying Wiley polling over Stringer until we get more numbers here.

But this doesn't change what we already knew. It's Yang's race to lose.

Adams could win....he is popular with Black voters and he could appeal to Staten Islanders without winning the borough, he could pull 40%-45% of the vote there...he is a former cop

I just spotted this. I disagree with the mindless De Blasio hate but I'm not going to criticize someone for saying they disapprove, but if you say you approve of Cuomo in the same poll, you are a joke of a person.

And nobody noticed!

Also, Nadler is backing Lander for comptroller. Which means Lander now has the all powerful Nadler mailing list at his disposal!

I feel like this would be the default response of most people but, at least to my eye, the significance here is that we're probably gonna start seeing more of this as we hit the upcoming filing & matching funds deadlines.

Menchaca and the rest of the minor candidates probably don't make it the next couple of weeks.

I see Yang, Adams, Wiley, Stringer, and Morales (she'll finish horribly, but she'll stay in for her intensely loyal Twitter base) making it to the primary day.

Donovan, McGuire, and Garcia have some tough decisions to make however because their presence is really gonna change how RCV goes.

I have two theories

1. Wiley is flopping on her pledge to rank Morales 2nd and is engaging in an RCV pact with Yang
2. Joint denunciation of Anti Asian hate crimes?

2. Joint denunciation of Anti Asian hate crimes?

When did that happen?

EDIT: nvm, found it... or, at least, something, because although they apparently "announced" their cross-endorsement informally & off-the-cuff during a mayoral forum last month, that came after Morales had not only already said informally & off-the-cuff back in Jan. that Stringer - not Wiley - was her 2nd choice, but after she went on to say in early Feb. that although she'd prefer to endorse a female 2nd-choice, none of the other female candidates in the race (i.e., incl. Wiley) were as progressive as would be sufficient to her satisfaction.

So, who knows? Short of official campaign press-releases/announcements/literature actually detailing a formal cross-endorsement (which has apparently yet to happen but which Yang/Wiley could very well be starting up for themselves tomorrow), perhaps no hitherto alluded-to cross-endorsement was actually legitimately final?

I was worried Brad Lander would back out the Comptroller race after Corey Johnson (eyeroll) jumped in, but he's fighting harder than ever. Big new endorsement. His reward presumably for endorsing her early in 2019.

Interesting, I haven't thought much about the comptroller race but that's an endorsement that has weight with me.
