Biden and Harris win with ~334 electoral votes in 2020. Harris beats AOC in a landslide in the Democratic primary, and Mike Pence eeks out a narrow victory in the Republican primary after defeating candidates like Donald Trump Jr., Nikki Haley, Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, and Ron DeSantis.

Who wins the 2024 presidential election?

Ah, then I think it'd just come down to how Harris runs her campaign. She can't allow it to be run as badly & incompetently as her 2020 primary campaign was. If she ensures that, then in the end, I think she'd take this fairly easily (maybe not in a landslide or anything, but still fairly), given that Pence is pretty boring, uncharismatic, & probably way too conservative to win a general election.

To use Trump's phrasing, Pence is "low energy."  His speech got awful ratings as a testament to that.  Pence's social conservatism also doesn't fit the times anymore.  He would've been a better candidate in the 1990s or 2000 than now.

It would be the most conventional election in more than a decade, one that Harris would probably win, I would guess 334 EVs (52%) to Pence's 204 EVs (46%). I see the stain of Trump being much to hard to wash off, especially if the Trump/Pence ticket loses in a blowout.

I don’t think a candidate whose political identity is concentrated almost solely around Evangelical Christianity (especially as extreme as Pence is) can win.

Probably a Harris win by about an Obama 2012 margin, and probably a pretty uneventful election. A nice change of pace from 2016 and 2020.

Pence has a niche appeal. He would have to moderate his social positions a lot.
