I think until the Rapture of Christ actually happens, reincarnation will be a belief that is borrowed from Buddhism and Hindhism, and Christians will believe in, due to the fact YR 2000 was supposed to be the yr of Christ return and didn't come; consequently, an asteriod or a nuke war are the more common forms of way to end life here on Earth, before the Sun explodes in a billion yrs.

But, who knows, we in the future, before Armaggedon, we will build a flying saucer to time travel to other planets, that are more habitable

Has it occurred to anyone that if you are reincarnated you are Literally "born again"?

Literally, but not figuratively.

As we know Death is nirvana, we don't know what happens to you in nirvana, but as long as Christ does t return, people are gonna believe in reincarnation

Hell is preferable to an eternity of nonexistence, which is probably why we invented that myth to begin with.

Only to people for whom nonexistence is hell.  But truthfully, no one is condemned to nonexistence, even if you don't believe in heaven, hell, or reincarnation.  Everyone living now will always be living now, no matter what happens in the past or future.   A lack of infinite span in the temporal span does not mean we face nonexistence anymore than our having a finite span in spatial dimensions means we have no impact beyond those physical limits.

"Reincarnation" is both a consequence of physics and a manifestation of karma. Given the nature of time and entropy, every version of every thing, to the most fundamental physical level, will happen, is happening, and already has happened. "You" will be, are, and always have been everything.

"Souls" do not have identity, but instead a persistent consciousness. If they can be said to exist at all, this is only through deduction. They are not fixed, are not singular, are not closed systems, and are only important as these labeled entities so far as doing so helps us to conceptualize them.

This is a very doomerish position for a convinced atheist and materialist to take. I prefer afleitch's observation (which he gets from Socrates) that, if there's no afterlife, his situation after he dies will be identical to his situation before he was born and thus nothing to worry about.

Hell, if it is a myth, was probably invented to make people feel better about tyrants and abusers prospering while they're alive, not because people thought it was somehow a preferable fate to cessation of consciousness at death.

There is considerable evidence for reincarnation, however, it all could be the 'collective unconscious' as well.

My belief in reincarnation is the one thing that prevents me from practicing Christianity.

What are the odds of having to relive the same life over?

That sounds like "eternal recurrence" to me.
