So, let's say Trump goes down in a massive defeat in 2020 (Biden wins over 400 EV). 4 years later, Mitt Romney decides to return to presidential politics and campaigns on a message of the pre-Trump GOP, somewhat reminiscent of his 2012 bid. Romney wins among a crowded field that includes the likes of Nikki Haley, Tom Cotton, Rick Scott, and Josh Hawley. Meanwhile an aging Biden retires and his Vice President Kamala Harris easily dispatches a primary challenge from AOC. Who would win the election, also you can pick the running mates.

If there isn't a recession and President Biden is at 50% or above approvals, Kamala should win. Texas and Pennsylvania are the closest states, followed by North Carolina and Georgia.

✓ Vice President Kamala D. Harris (D-CA)/Governor Roy Cooper (D-NC): ~ 340 EV. (51.34%)
Senator Willard Mitt Romney (R-UT)/Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO): ~ 195 EV. (46.78%)

Depends on how well the Biden administration has done. Romney potentially bought himself a whole lot of suburban votes with that impeachment vote.

I'd love to vote for Romney again.  I really think he should've given it another go in 2016 but he got intimidated by Jeb Bush of all people.
