It's a shame cause I do have a positive impression of her, the only one I can say that about in the family. Even with the "I don't care" coat.

But Christ, she can't make it more obvious that she hates the position she's in and constantly feels a gun to her back. I wouldn't be surprised if she divorces him within a year of him leaving office

Re: the complaints about her public speaking ability, I'd imagine English being her 2nd language doesn't help things. That was certainly a better speech than anything I could ever hope to deliver in a non-native language.

I've only caught bits and pieces of the convention so far, so this may not reflect the entirety of what's gone down, but here's my main observation: There are two ways an incumbent can run for re-election - either things are going well and you do a "morning in America" type campaign or, if things are going bad, do a "don't change horses mid stream" campaign. Given how low the national morale is and how just a quarter of the population thinks the country is headed in the right direction, it seems pretty obvious to go for the latter strategy. What I've seen so far is a mix of the two, with some speakers choosing an uplifting "things are great thanks to Trump" message and others choosing a "things are bad so stick with Trump" message. The speeches that take the second option seem to me to be more effective, but I think the main problem is just that you can't push both messages because each narrative undermines the other and even the most loyal footsoldiers do want a narrative they can repeat ad nauseum.

For one reason I don't like how he used Breonna Taylor's name to try and score political points while not doing anything to hold the cops who killed her accountable. People like Cameron should not receive a platform to manipulate their way into the White House and further wreck this country with platitudes and a smile. Better the devil you know than the devil in disguise.

What makes his 15 minutes of fame all the more weird is how truly serendipitous it all was.

He was one of a crowd of kids standing near the Native American guy. If he'd been standing a couple of feet in another direction, some other kid would have been the one at the front of the group and they'd have been the one in the videos and getting mobbed by Twitter.

He literally did nothing but stand there looking like a smug prick and then because Liberal Twitter lost its collective mind, he was canonized as a saint by the Right. It's the textbook definition of elevating someone purely on the basis of victimhood - which conservatives allegedly oppose.
