It is, but it's more hypocrisy. Legions of criminals are apparently going to destroy our way of of life according to the GOP, but this one supports (or at least tolerates) Trump, so he's okay and is allowed to have his life back.

To reiterate: those Central Park Five rapists need to be executed! But again, this guy: fine.

Paul's objections were nonsensically disingenuous because lynching need not depend on the degree of injury & a racist act need not depend on the amount of racism. Picture it: "you know, your Honor, yes: we did form a gang of 8 rednecks & yes, we did tie that Black man up & drag him behind the pickup, & then we did string him up by the neck, but somebody cut him down, so he only got a few bruises & scrapes. Clearly, no lynching has taken place." C'mon.
