Negative response from Fox.

These particular Fox reporters aren't Trump hacks; those who are will be saying something different.

So it'll be like how debates are rated afterwards? Cause I don't think that's what Trump should aim for.

Diehard emocrats: "Biden had the better speech & convention"
Diehard Republican: "Trump had the better speech & convention"

Everyone else: "Didn't watch, so none of this matters and we'll be back to a 50-42 Biden lead until the first debate"

I would say so. As I've said before, if you go to conservative websites, they are lapping this slop up. Democrats on the other hand, have been harshly critical of the RNC-as one would expect. But outside of diehard partisans, most people don't care about the conventions-hence, why there won't be a conventional polling bump this year.

Negative response from Fox.

Isn’t Brit Hume pretty Trump friendly, though?

To my knowledge, he's more skeptical of Trump than the other Fox correspondents, aside from Chris Wallace of course, and arguably Bret Baier. Aside from those three and Neil Cavuto, everyone else in the network is fully in the tank for Trump, and will give fulsome praise to his speech-whether it be Hannity, Judge Jeanine, Ingraham, or the Five.

Wow, the alternate reality that the blue avatars (and solidcoalition) are living in by calling Trump's speech "great" lol. This country is fractured...permanently.

Not comparing Trump’s speech to this but would you call Reagan’s inaugural speech bad .

Just cause you disagree with the content in a speech doesn’t make it bad
Reagan was a great orator. Trump is a carnival barker.

Also, I may have disagreed with most of Reagan's policies but he didn't lie nearly as much as Trump has.

Of course Trump’s speech wasn’t as great as Reagan’s but my overall point is you can say a speech is good while hating the content of the speech

The problem with the speech is that he was monotone, there were points where he repeated things he already said and he started going off talking about covered wagons and setting trends in music, etc which sounded really odd.

Doesn't it though? What else would you judge it on?

On its delivery , and how much of a bump it gets

So if someone says the most racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, homophobic speech ever, it can still be a good speech if delivered well and in front of a receptive crowd?

Yes, the "goodness" of a speech is defined by its delivery, not by its content. Hitler gave good speeches (with horrific content), for example. Nevertheless, what Donald Trump gave today wasn't a good speech, his voice was metaphorically dragging its feet throughout the whole thing.

Granted I have only watched for 10 minutes but it is a pretty good speech so far
I guess that you're voting for Trump now. LOL, not surprising.

No you can say someone gave a good speech and still not vote for them lol
There is nothing in this garbage speech that he hasn't been saying months and in some case years. It's the same ol' Trump nonsense.

you can say th same thing about any joe or kamala speech. stop being a hack
Not true. Also, most of what Trump says is a bunch of lies.

the irony
There is none. Trump has told the most lies than any President in American history.

He makes Nixon look like a honest man. It’s unbelievable how dishonest he is and even worse he expects people to believe him.

Many of Trump's supporters are delusional enough to believe that he's the best President we've had since Ronald Reagan, or even the best since Lincoln! Absolutely ridiculous. In reality, Trump is one of the worst Presidents this country has ever had, and has now solidified his position with the likes of Millard Fillmore, Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, and Warren G. Harding.

Multiple RNC speakers said Trump is the best president EVER.

The mere act of commenting on another country makes one a foreign agitator apparently;

On a more serious issue, can someone explain to me why Trumptards went berserk after people commented Barron's height?
Since when calling someone tall is considered a slur?

I've seen these kinds of declarations as well, and they are utterly ridiculous. Many people think that the last four years are "exactly what America needed" and want it to continue.

This is his best speech since the 2019 State of the Union Address . He will probably get a 3 point bump from this imo
Finally an objective voice. I hope he doesn’t get a bump.

Guys, the effectiveness of a speech does not correlate with how much you personally agree with it. Trump is a vile, detestable f**ktard, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been an effective speaker.

Are we sure these aren't Trump supporters who mistook him for someone or something they dislike, like the law?

When a party spends years supporting political violence from its very top, it's a little late to be surprised that they end up with political violence. Want to end stuff like this? Get Trump fascists out of office, and keep them out.

Again Trump lied to the Voters, he acts like the economy is not in partial shutdown, it still is: libraries, stadiums and visitations to nursing homes are still barred.

However, I agree that unemployment benefits have fostered a decency and jobs are now hiring, workers are gonna have to get back to work

But Kushner just blasted Lebron for boycott. Of course Ivanka and Melania doesnt know how boycotts work. Soviet block didnt understand it in the 60s either when KGB assassinated 4 Civil Rights leaders on Hoover's negligence

It shines a light back on Criminal Justice reform after Rs were getting credit for blocking Pelosi bill on unemployment. Harris is gonna be a great Veep for Criminal justice

The funny thing about this line of thinking is that ZANU-PF's overarching ideology—romanticization of rural life fused to a sense that the racial/ethnic majority is entitled to special privileges and that minorities and foreigners should know their place or get out—is basically the Republican Party's.

The GOP convention brought in 147.9 million views across television and online, Fox News has learned.

The DNC convention, as Fox News previously reported, had 122 million total viewers through television and online.

Trump also raised $76 million in four days.

The Trump campaign "used and abused" (i.e. manipulated) these women for its own nefarious purposes. I shouldn't be too surprised by this. It's hilarious to me how Trump and Republicans think that this constitutes "outreach" towards minority communities, particularly given that the Party continues to abet policies which are exceptionally damaging to us-not just on immigration, but on criminal justice, economic, and social issues in general.
