Hmmm... still not much out of London, though looks like Labour have lost Tower Hamlets and Camden look like Labour loses, ditto H&F (apparently Tories look like winning it by a wide margin).

Westminster has declared; as usual not a single seat changed hands.

LibDems are reported to be in trouble in Islington (!)

Tories hold Wandsworth (sun rises in east, sets in west etc)... and fears of a Labour wipeout were unfounded. We lost just one seat (far better than I'd have expected...)

Seeing as the outgoing administration in Bexley was one of very few competent Boroughs in London...

A bright spot for the Liberals; they've probably taken back Richmond.

Hammersmith & Fulham is looking quite messy...

Crikey! Looks like Labour holding on nationwide to it’s ‘04 level of support… meanwhile its looking like a real meltdown for Labour in London (with the exception of Islington Cheesy ).

My count says that Labour has held Barking & Dagenham (not all wards in yet but...).

I did hear we were in trouble there [Lewisham] the other day...

The BBC has now said that Labour has held Oldham (earlier they had it as NOC). Same with Blackburn.

Yes, London seems far worse for Labour than the rest of England. Losing Lewisham to NOC is bad. As for the Tories, with the exception of Hammersmith and Fulham, they'll win back Boroughs that they ought never to have lost in the first place

I heard their much anticipated pick-up of Merton is likely to fall short or has the situation changed?

I certainly don't relish the thought of Labour losing Haringey to that lot whose name I can never remember; but I gather things are better for Labour in Islington. The thought of Ealing being lost is worrysome

As for Tower Hamlets, meow Tongue. Voters have just made cringeworthy twits of themselves. I don't what's worse Respect doing well in TH or the BNP doing well in D&G

Still, I can hope and pray that it won't quite be as bad as 1968

sh**t! Given that the suicide level has fallen since 1997, I just hope that this isn't a portent of it shooting back up again following 2009/10

Except for 11 seats. The Lab majority is cut from 41:16 to 30:27.

Well, it's a Labour hold Smiley. And believe me I'm thankful of that Smiley

Islington: LD 24 (-11); Lab 23 (+11); Green 1 - Stand for Nowts lose to NOC Smiley

As Haringey moves towards losing its senses, Islington is well on its way to regaining theirs
