This obviously isn't a coincidence, given that Putin is currently watching a fellow geriatric dictator in a neighboring country come under pressure from mass protests. Putin fears that if Lukashenko falls (not saying it'll happen, but it's plausible enough for Putin to worry about), then protests will spread to Russia. Putin is more scared of his own people than anybody else.

I am convinced that this is Putin's handiwork. Protests in Khabarovsk, which have not subside for a long time, after the protests in Belarus will finish successfully (50/50 possibility) will gain more strength, it could be a real threat to Putin, so Navalny's poisoning is not a surprise, looking at the history of deadly poisoning of other Russian oppositionists

This smells like another crime by Putin and his gang. However, I think it's not very smart to murder every opposition leader by the same method. Nawlny may have been on something from where he flew back, some news report over here.

That being said, he hope he recovers and gets treated in the EU. According to German news sources, there have been some talks to move him into a German or French hospital.

Poisoned tea is a classical method used by the Russian intelligence. There was an alleged attempt to kill the Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya in that way (finally she was nurdered, with all evidence pointing to Chechnya)

Breaking: Nawalny will be moved to Berlin for treatment in the Charite Hospital, German news sources report. A plane will head off to Russia this night already.

Now being claimed he has "no sign" of poisoning, FWIW.

The chief doctor, a member of the party "United Russia", did not give permission for Navalny to be taken abroad.

Breaking: Nawalny will be moved to Berlin for treatment in the Charite Hospital, German news sources report. A plane will head off to Russia this night already.

As of this morning via AP, doctors in Omsk aren’t approving his transfer for “medical reasons.” They’re also claiming that he is suffering from a metabolic disorder rather than poisoning. Navalny’s allies are charging that the delay in release is motivated by a desire to wait until poison leaves his system before transferring.

Not sure about anybody else, but I don't think people start screaming in pain when they've got low blood sugar.

Either they're confident no traces of the toxic agent will be found, or he's a dead man walking & they're not concerned about doctors being able to save him.

Just happened to come by Navalny's hospital. Lots of journalists are camped there in front of it. A couple of cops too. And a lone protestor holding a sign in Russian.

Guess the Russians didn't keep him long enough for the poison to dissipate.

Tough on Russia? We need to repeal the laws that prohibit the CIA from targeting foreign leaders and make Putin the first target.

Mohammed Bin Salman isn't currently the King of Saudi Arabia, but he is somewhere on that list.

Navalny is still in coma. I'm afraid even if he escapes death, he will be permanently severely damaged.
