https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/gov-kristi-noem-asks-south-dakotans-put-positive-pants-fight-n1236747

Quote
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem asked her constituents to put on their "positive pants" and use optimism as a tool to help combat the coronavirus.

Noem said that during a recent visit to a Sioux Falls classroom, a message posted on a bulletin board in a fourth-grade classroom caught her eye.

"It said 'Put your positive pants on.' That message reminded me of a lesson that is often easy to forget: an optimistic outlook can be tremendously helpful when responding to life’s challenges," the Republican governor said in a statement last week. "That’s especially true in the fight against COVID-19."

How about things that actually work, Governor, like a mask mandate?

Maybe South Dakotans should take their ‘positive pants’ off, wrap them around their heads, and use them as improvised masks.

I just can't with the continued barrage of stupidity from these folks. It's absolutely mind-numbing.

If Billie Sutton doesn't get a cabinet post he could actually beat her in 2022.

It's SD, I doubt it. Her win will be underwhelming though, probably less than 15 points.

She only won by 4. A lot of Republicans there don't like her.

Or maybe it was because Sutton was a strong candidate and it was a Democratic wave year. Republicans will gladly nationalize this race if Sutton runs again in 2022 and say that he's a liberal pawn of Washington Democrats like Biden, Harris, Schumer, Pelosi, etc. That will be enough to scare the on-the-fence R's into line and vote for her.

He wants abortion to be illegal and wants people to have whatever guns they want. He’s willing to totally go “me too” with Republicans on identity politics and focus on things that matter to everyone.

Yeah, I'm starting to not see the hype. Her approval rating has increased, but if she wasn't popular pre-corona, she must not be that great.

Positive pants? Like have the pants tested positive?

This is by far the stupidest version yet of the 'let's do nothing and it'll go away' plan.

That doesn't matter they'll still say he's a pro-abortion and anti-gun radical who will be a pawn for Pelosi. The facts don't matter here, what matters is how much they can smear him based on the fact that he has a D next to his name.

I'm not sure how letting mass death occur when she's are in charge is supposed to benefit her.

Not my favorite governor, but probably my favorite Republican governor. So far, she has almost nailed the COVID response, which is more than I can say for approximately 48 other governors.

I'm so sick of endless negativity. Complaining can be good if it's accompanied by realistic solutions. With COVID, it almost never is.

What a controversial take, that we should be optimistic.
