Anyway. My view on her is that, like many politicians, she's willing to do or say whatever she needs to do to get elected at the moment. That obviously threw her into the tough on crime bullsh!t of the 2000s and the "let me try to be the most progressive senator" of 2017-2019 and then pivoting back toward the center, first during her campaign last year and then this year to try and get picked as VP. Now will she advance good policies? Maybe and maybe not. We'll have to see. I don't think she'll go back to her old days as a prosecutor but that's always gonna be a stain on her record.

Rs in red states are only 5 pts ahead of their D challengers except for Sullivan and Tuberville, she can maximize the minority turnout in SC, KY, TX, MS, NC, and AZ to get Dems to 60 seats. Dems need to get as many seats as possible,  so they can blunt any obstruction from Rs by filibustering DC statehood and immigration reform

Yeah, I can get down with that. She also hasn't insulted the Vietnamese American, Native American, Indian American, black and white populations the way Loretta Sanchez did throughout her career. Maybe if I dig a little deeper I'll find something about "the Jews".

On a less light-hearted tangent, I've noted elsewhere that my father detests Kamala Harris. One of the reasons why he dislikes her is because she is married to a white man. Yes, there is still lingering hostility to interracial marriage.

I actually considered her one of the more likable Democrats before the Kavanaugh hearings and honestly thought a lot of the hate directed at her (especially on this forum) was way over the top, but her views alone make her a HP. She’ll be a great asset in turning out the base in 2022 and disproving the notion that Biden's coalition is somehow particularly well suited to withstand or mitigate midterm losses or whatever, though.
