A lot of undecideds still, but more warning signs in this poll: 60% of voters have had their opinion get *worse* of Collins versus 4 years ago, and Gideon is still winning Indies.

You love to see it!

Democrats need to flood the airwaves in Maine with Sellout Susan's pathetic speech on the floor of the U.S. Senate supporting Kavanaughty until Election Day.

Too many undecideds, but polling has been very bad for Collins, and I don’t think RCV will help her.

CO, NC, AZ, ME, AL all look like close to guaranteed flips at this point. Only question is whether Democrats can expand into some of the toss-up or slight GOP lead states in order to have a working majority.

I don't think that will happen. Maine is not as Democratic as Illinois, and the state does have trends (i.e. in the 2nd District) that could eventually hand it to Republicans in a future presidential election. But 2020 is clearly not that election, and Collins is the underdog at this point. I'm thinking that she will probably lose by between 2% and 5%. I still do believe that she will outperform Trump, but it will be a marginal overperformance, and not enough for her to win again.

Is it really fair to draw comparisons here? Kirk was a one-termer whose victory was (if I’m not mistaken) unexpected and his voting record did not dramatically change (it was pretty moderate relative to the GOP at the time). Collins has built up a bigger brand which she (and a president who is clearly dismissive of her) has done much to destroy since 2016.

Hopefully she'll learn her lesson in November.
