It's Safe R, and I'm actually fine with it. Lots of Dems in UT are voting for him. He's one of the few decent human beings left in that party (or in politics in general, really).

It's Safe R, and I'm actually fine with it. Lots of Dems in UT are voting for him. He's one of the few decent human beings left in that party (or in politics in general, really).

Utah's Republican Governors have traditionally tended to be reasonable pragmatists. Cox belongs to the same wing of the party as his two soon-to-be predecessors, Herbert and Huntsman.

The geographic distribution of Utah's population is such that almost any map will "look gerrymandered" on the surface. The truth is that 3R/1D is a fair arrangement for the state, and it's probably what we'll get during redistricting if McAdams is reelected. A true Republican gerrymander in Utah is very obvious because it must rely entirely on cracking Salt Lake County.
