I urge you to consider my nomination as Speaker and Deputy Speaker. I have done very much work in the Chamber in the last few sessions since I became Deputy Speaker on April 28th. I've stood in (as acting speaker) during times of need such as after the resignation of former Speaker YoungTexan to keep the Chamber running. I have the necessary experience in order to effectively keep the Chamber moving and improve activity. I am a steady hand who is capable and ready to lead in this new session.

The South needs clear and decisive leadership. That is what I bring to this honorable Chamber. I plan to make these positions clear during the public debate. I have listened to concerns of citizens regarding the Chamber and will continue to do everything I can to encourage active debate and participation on critical legislation that pertains to the Southern region. I cannot let the South be leaderless. The game becomes better when stability is granted. I will never let you down and always put you all first. I pledge to work with all of you to make a more active Chamber this session.

Therefore, I self-nominate for both Speaker and Deputy Speaker of this honorable chamber.

I nominate myself for Speaker.

I ran my campaign largely on the notion that the previous session wasn't the most efficient, we can do a lot better than we have. The position has traditionally been non-partisan and I'd continue that, my goal will be to not just open/close votes, but to take it a step further. The biggest fault of the previous body is that some bills weren't really fleshed out/thought through and failed as a result. There were a lot of good ideas discussed during the campaign; I'd like to work with each of you to turn those ideas into quality legislation, properly debate them, and get them into law. I’m thankful to those who have already expressed support and hope ya'll will consider me, I will respect whatever decision you make.

It goes without saying that I will not be a candidate for Speaker or Deputy Speaker. Tentatively supporting Tmth and Tim for those positions, respectively.

I second the nominations of Tmth for speaker and Tim for deputy speaker if that's needed.

Greetings Delegates of the 19th session of the Southern Chamber of Delegates,

As the outgoing Speaker for the previous session, and as a Speaker of this house who has had bipartisan support for in holding this position. I would like to provide some advice in the selection of the speaker. Regardless of whoever becomes the Speaker of this esteemed chamber, they need to be active. Both the current nominees have shown a level of activity in the previous session. Tmth has shown that even as a regular citizen he is willing to be active and contribute. Spark has been a decent deputy. Tim Turner also has great experience as either speaker or deputy.

With all these things considered, I would suggest that building capacity for the future is a wise move. I would hope that the speaker or deputy for this session will actually create and monitor the notice board unlike a previous session where I did so as a public service.

In any case if a candidate:
A] Is willing to demonstrate their activity and commitment by pledging to keep the noticeboard as up to date as possible.
B] Is willing notify all members when votes are happening.
C] Is willing to resign the post due to lack of commitment to the above.

A candidate who would commit to the above should be given the green light regardless of political affiliation. The speakership and deputy positions shouldn't be a partisan issue. Competence and commitment are far more important than whatever political stance they take as a delegate.

Thankyou for your time delegates. May you serve the South to the best of your abilities. God bless the South.

As there is only one declared candidate for Speaker and Deputy Speaker and because the nomination period has closed, I announce that tmth has been elected Speaker, and Tim has been elected Deputy Speaker

Opening up a 48 hour vote, or when a majority of delegates have voted in favor of a candidate:

One of y'all should've ran against me! It feels weird winning an election where i'm the only one on the ballot.

In any case, thank you everyone for your support. I look forward to serving the Chamber.
