To answer the question, while a sweeping ban on ALL forms of pornography is indeed next to impossible to enforce, a ban more narrowly tailored for child pornography is a moral imperative and therefore just because it may be difficult to clamp down on THAT form of pornography, it is hardly an excuse not to try to protect children from Opebos everywhere.

A war on porn would be as successful as the war on drugs (aka not successful at all).

Would you say the same for a war on child pornography?
Can you still find a way to get child pornography?

Yes, actually - how do you think those people who get caught with it get it? Certainly they aren't all pornagraphers. You could actually get it quite easily - P2P programs, chatrooms, ect.

However, it's more enforceable to go against child pornagraphy because the scale of the market demanding it is much smaller than that of drugs or regular pornagraphy. It's not entirely enforceable, but the scale makes it possible to do a sufficient job of it. Further, since child porn involves harm to kids whereas regular porn is between consenting adults there is reason to go after it.

It is very difficult for the State to effect a complete ban on anything, but it can certainly make life a misery for the individual by trying.

Yes. Besides there is nothing wrong with consensual pornography.

Agreed, with the exception of pornography that is degrading to women.

Even gay porn?

Especially gay porn. Those poofs discriminate so thorougly against women they aren't even allowed on set. Tongue
