Honestly a little surprised by this margin. Biden and (especially) Shaheen are polling really well in NH, Sununu is NOT in the mold of Baker/Hogan/Scott (highly partisan, always running from some sort of Trump-related controversy). Not sure what is keeping him so far ahead - COVID hasn't been bad in NH but that is no thanks to Sununu, though people may not realize that. Volinsky margin makes a lot more sense but I figured Feltes would be able to keep it reasonably competitive.

NH doesnt have a state sales tax and NH females want to keep taxes low and are the majority in NH. They like Sununu and keeping their taxes low, just like IN and FL rely heavily on lottery, alcohol and cigarette taxes instead of sales of state taxes to fund states, that why R Govs win

Of course - he isn't. Even Hogan is, probably, somewhat less moderate then Scott. But compared with most Republican governors (not even mention such thugs as Kemp and his like) - he is very moderate...

It's not really that,  it's just that NH is very pro-incumbent (even today) and also people in NH are terrified that the NH Dems will pass a state income tax.  Which that isn't true, but it's a message heavily pushed by Republicans successfully here.

Sununu doesn't need to be as remotely moderate as Scott, since New Hampshire is considerably less liberal than Vermont.
