Likely D - At this point something dramatic would have to happen for Biden to lose the state.  That being said I wouldn't rule out possibility of GOP winning it in a future election.  If Democrats swing too far left with future nominees or if GOP's next presidential candidate is more moderate I could see it being in play.  But as long as you have a moderate Democrat vs. right wing populist GOP, it will go Democrat.  For example if it were Kasich vs. Sanders, pretty sure Kasich would win Virginia.

The idea that Virginia is somehow going to be closer than it was in 2016 is not backed up by any evidence whatsoever.

Safe D. Biden wins by 10-15, depending on his national margin. State will probably be a few points to the left of the nation.

Virginia is gone for the Republican party, as it is today. It's the new Maryland.

It's largely just a legacy to call Virginia competitive anymore.  I'm thinking it'll be a solid double digit win for Biden.

Safe D.

But contrary to what posters who don't know where Arlington is located on a map say, it wouldn't have been even close to Safe D if Bernie were the nominee.

Currently the margin would be Biden +16.  I expect it to be around Biden +11 on Election Day.

I see Biden winning by at least 7-8 points minimum, probably double digits given the national environment.
