Moving this one to Safe D.

Even if Trump wins North Carolina, Cooper is popular enough to hang on.

Ugh, this is impressive. I doubt Cooper will end up winning by this much, but this race is Safe D.

And another proof that Dem govs are handling Coronavirus much better than their GOP counterparts. Whether it's Cooper, Newsom, Cuomo, Pritzker or Whitmer, their approvals have trended upwards by significant margins. DeSantis, Kemp, Ducey and Abbott have cratered. Only the more sane ones such as Baker, Hogan or DeWine have done a reasonably good job with the pandemic.

Cuomo handled it appallingly but was really good at the PR of the response. I'm not sure how Newsom has been. However it is good that the Southern GOP governors are getting penalized for their failures.

Newsom's approval are still up but not sure if as much as March/April. He's gotten a bit of heat since May over giving in to the business/Commerce sectors & anti-lockdown folks pushing for reopening. He's taken the reins again in the last month, but I know it soured me on him.

No way on earth he wins by 20, but it's pretty obvious this race is over.
