I am a very big fan of the ampersand as a substitute for and,  & I am all for it returning to normal use.

One of the only ligatures left in English, so FL for that alone...it's also an aesthetically pleasing one too.

I use it more when writing than typing.

I use it when handwriting but rarely when typing, unless it's on a platform that has a character limit.

Though mine does not look like &, what I use is basically a plus sign with a bit making it connected. Like the third from the left in this image:

I'm fine with it being used for titles, names of couples on wedding invitations, and business names, but I'm not a huge fan of it in longer written text.

And I don't like it when people switch back and forth between using the ampersand and "and" in the same piece of writing. Pick one option and stick with it.

I do so little writing by hand now, that can't hand write a decent one anymore.

Well yeah, mine have always looked terrible but it always felt like less effort than writing out "and." For typing though striking SHIFT+7 seems to be more effort than simply typing "and."
