Why would you go from Dukakis to Bush and from Kerry to McCain?

Could that guy just be someone who bought replicas of those bumper stickers and decided to just buy the ones of losers to make a point or something

I went from Kerry to McCain.

I decided to vote for McCain while in the voting booth.  I knew that Democrats would sweep both Houses of Congress and I wished a check on that, hence my vote for McCain.

In 2004, I voted for Kerry and Republican Mel Martinez for Senate on the same day for similar reasons.  I tend to not think gridlock to be a bad thing.
