Could the Democratic Party with its increasing strength with Urban voters of all Classes decide the best way to keep this coalition together is by becoming a much more aggressively urban chauvinist party; belittling rural/exurban “takers” and calling for fiscal autonomy for Big Cities.

The biggest issue with this is presence of Rural Southern Blacks who wield a large amount of power in the party. However if those rural counties depopulate enough and possibly there is a shift away from the Democratic Party (as unlikely as it seems now) then could this become more probable?

I don't think this can work in America because the big cities are scattered all across the country, whereas Lega Nord is more of a north/south regional divide. Cities and rural areas are stuck with each other in America, like it or not.

Yeah, all the GOP party has become is a tax cut party for the rich, every tax cut enacted has caused a Recession,  Harding, Coolidge tax cuts, Depression, Reaganeconomics 1988, Bush W tax cuts 01, Great Recession and 2017 Trump tax cuts, Economic crisis of 2020

No, because the Black Belt counties aren't depopulating. More importantly, the Internet has made people from cities and rural areas share more in common. The only people stressing this bastardized romanticism with "muh evil coastal elites" are crypto-Nazis who really mean they want power returned to a wealthy, white, patriarchal feudal elite. Like QAnon, occasionally that will trickle down from 4chan to mainstream conservative sources and they'll pick up those talking points without actually wanting the outcome intended. Very few people actually care. There's more pressing issues that don't depend on how many buildings surround your house.

Blue avatars will seethe and smug red avatars will think I'm on their side. I'm not.

Your comparison to Lega Nord does not make sense.

And by the way Lega Nord has moved past "Northern chauvinism" much.

In Minnesota, they're still called the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. They still can win some of the rural counties in that state.

But never mind that; it's just one state. I think the national Democrats are just too firmly wedded to their view of a strong federal government that unites the country and helps all the people to become devoted to just helping the big cities from now on and ignoring the rural areas (in terms of government assistance).

No, because it goes against the ethos of the party. Democrats don't foment resentment about the endowment of government benefits to outgroups as aggressively as Republicans do. Democrats think that's how government is supposed to work.

Also, the kind of resentment/chauvinism/call for autonomy the original post describes sounds like a very manufactured (or someone would say, astroturfed) thing, whereas a strain of Northern resentment at Southern Italians and vice versa has existed for a long time and predates Lega by decades or centuries.
