House Majority Whip Tom DeLay runs for President in 2000, and beats fellow Texan George W. Bush in a closely fought primary battle.

On the Democratic side, Al Gore easily wins the nomination.

Who wins in November? What does the map look like?

I can only imagine that DeLay beat Bush from the right, which means Al Gore simply runs against "Gingrich/DeLay uber-conservatism and obstructionism" or something and cruises to victory. I don't think Gore would choose Lieberman, by the way.

Gore would run against the likelihood that DeLay + GOP Congress would take away school lunches and healthcare, and such attacks would work.
