This bill that Senator Ted and I put forward is based on the Put Out The Fires Act currently being deliberated in the Frémont Parliament. This is a simple funding measure that entrusts the individual states affected by the ongoing wildfires to distribute aid where it is most needed, though I can see an argument that states may need more or less funding than the base figure as currently established in the bill. To that end, I would invite Congress to assess how much each affected state needs.

This map shows where the fires are most prevalent, and the most affected states are listed in the current draft of the bill.

Also, I would politely ask that both chambers act on this hastily. This is not the kind of legislation that we need sitting on the floor for two months.

I motion to wave cloture and minimum debate times, Senators have 24 hours to object.

No objection here. Thanks to the MP for posting advocacy -- my family nearly lost our home in a fire in 2017, and the danger these fires pose to the West has only grown since. Hopefully we can get this done quickly.
